Rain Water Harvesting at ROHTAS:
In general, water harvesting is the activity of direct collection of rainwater. At ROHTAS our latest design collects gallons of rainwater and store it for direct use or can be recharged into the groundwater. We at ROHTAS understood that rain is the first form of water that we know in the hydrological cycle, hence our primary source of water. Rivers, lakes and groundwater are all secondary sources of water. In present times, we depend entirely on such secondary sources of water. In the process, ROHTAS has not forgotten that rain is the ultimate source that feeds all these secondary sources and remain ignorant of its value. For us water harvesting means to understand the value of rain, and to make optimum use of the rainwater at the place where it falls.
Benefits of Rain Water Collection:
- Rainwater is a relatively clean and absolutely free source of water.
- We have total control over our water supply.
- It is socially acceptable and environmentally responsible.
- It promotes self-sufficiency and helps conserve water Rainwater is better for landscape plants and gardens because it is not chlorinated.
- It reduces stormwater runoff from homes and businesses.
- It can solve the drainage problems on our property while providing us with free water.
- It uses simple technologies that are inexpensive and easy to maintain.
- It can be used as a main source of water or as a back up source to wells and municipal water.
- It can provide an excellent back-up source of water for emergencies
